Breaking another global record, Dubai has secured a spot among the top five most affordable cities worldwide for expat housing, per the latest ranking list.
According to the new ranking by Colife, a global rental service, the Portuguese capital takes the lead among affordable cities for expats, followed by Oslo in Norway, Berlin in Germany, and Barcelona in Spain.
The rankings are based on a few factors including fluctuations in the real estate markets of cities with an attractive business environment for expats.
The other factors for the ranking are extensive global studies as the Ease of Doing Business Index by the World Bank, the Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report by StartupBlink, the world’s most comprehensive startup ecosystem map and research center, and the Worldwide Work-Life Balance Index by Forbes Advisor.
The ranking gains added importance against the backdrop of a rise in digital nomadism—where remote workers travel and work simultaneously, exploring global destinations while working from beaches, coffee shops, and co-working spaces.
As per the recent study of instant offices an estimated 35 million people globally are believed to be working remotely and travelling the world. This growing trend has begun to shape the policies and decision-making of government. Countries like the UAE are introducing long-term residency visa programs amending migration laws, and expanding their product and services to attract a broader audience.
