The UAE economy maintained its growth momentum in Q1 2026, with real GDP rising 3% year-on-year to AED 485 billion, compared with AED 470.9 billion in the same period last year.
The non-oil economy expanded by 4.8%, increasing its contribution to 79.4% of GDP, further highlighting the UAE’s progress towards a more diversified economy.
Financial and insurance activities recorded the strongest growth at 17.3%, followed by construction at 8.1%, healthcare and social work at 7.7%, and information and communication at 5.9%. Real estate also grew by 4.8%.
The strong performance comes as the UAE continues to strengthen its position as a global business and investment hub, supported by economic diversification, private-sector growth and expanding international trade.
The country is working towards its We the UAE 2031 target of doubling the national economy to AED 3 trillion by 2031. Meanwhile, non-oil exports reached AED 452.8 billion in H1 2026, growing by 23.9%.
The latest figures reinforce the growing role of non-oil sectors in driving the UAE’s long-term economic growth and competitiveness.
