To fortify its export sector, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources reported the issuance of 36,293 certificates of origin in August, a notable increase from the 34,926 issued in July, as outlined in the ministry’s monthly bulletin.
This initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to enhancing exports across diverse industries. Certificates of origin hold paramount importance in international trade, serving as a vital document that verifies the national origin of exported goods or confirms that they meet the requisite criteria.
The most recent data demonstrates that this service is not exclusively reserved for large corporations or industrial giants; it is accessible to a broad spectrum of economic participants, encompassing farmers, fishermen, individual entrepreneurs, and local artisans.
Furthermore, the ministry’s certificate issuance system offers four models tailored to various export scenarios. These models include a specific version designed for products destined for Gulf Cooperation Council countries and another for goods intended for other Arab nations.
A preferential standard model is also available for GCC exports to countries and economic blocs with which free trade agreements have been established. For nations where preferential treatment is not applicable, the ministry offers certificates in English and Arabic, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in international trade endeavors.
