The Saudi Arabia 2034 FIFA World Cup bid is excited to announce a partnership with Manga Arabia, a division of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG). Together, they’ll create a special manga titled “Road to 2034.”
This exciting project aims to capture the imaginations of young football fans and manga enthusiasts around the world. “Road to 2034” will be available in Arabic, English, and Japanese, both in print and digitally.
This partnership is more than just a cool comic book. It reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to celebrating its culture and leaving a lasting legacy in its quest to host the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup in a single nation. “Road to 2034” is a chance to connect with young people globally and inspire the next generation of football stars.
The announcement comes on the same day as the World Cup 2026 qualifier match between Saudi Arabia and Japan. This exciting coincidence symbolizes the power of football to unite people across borders.
“Our World Cup bid is fueled by the passion and dreams of over 32 million people,” said Hammad Albalawi, head of the Saudi Arabia FIFA World Cup bid. “This manga is about inspiring future generations. We want to leave a lasting legacy, and this partnership lets us engage our young population – 63% of whom are under 30 – in a way that resonates with their interests. It’s also a chance to showcase Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage.”
SRMG CEO Rashid Al-Rashed sees the partnership as a way to connect with future generations, empower local talent, and promote the power of storytelling. Essam Bukhary, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Manga Arabia, adds that this project highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing role in global sports and the important role of the manga industry in inspiring young people.
We’re excited to see “Road to 2034” come to life and share the passion for football and storytelling with the world!
