The UAE has reinforced its economic ties with South America following an eight-day trade mission led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, under the UAE Trade Days initiative.
The delegation visited Panama, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, and Guyana, engaging with government leaders, senior officials, and business communities to strengthen trade and investment cooperation and create new opportunities for the UAE private sector.
Representatives from key industries, including technology, renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, financial services, mining, and food industries, participated in business forums and bilateral meetings aimed at expanding commercial partnerships.
The UAE also participated in the Mercosur Summit in Paraguay, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening relations with regional economic blocs. Non-oil trade between the UAE and Mercosur member states reached US$6.2 billion in 2025, highlighting the growing economic relationship.
During the visit, discussions focused on increasing non-oil trade, promoting mutual investment, supporting UAE companies entering Latin American markets, and expanding cooperation in future-focused sectors.
The mission reflects the UAE’s broader strategy of expanding its global trade network, strengthening international partnerships, and reinforcing its position as a leading global hub for trade and investment.
