New Payment app Launched in Dubai Backed by Government

A new payment system “Empay” was recently launched in Dubai by the Dubai Economic Department.

As part of the framework of its strategy to turn its services towards the digital direction, and also to keep its customers delighted in the digital transition, the Dubai Economic Department (DED) recently launched an app called Empay.

The app would provide instant credit facility to people, so as to facilitate the payment without having to complete any formality or paperwork. The app is applicable for Government, business and consumer services.

This app provides the ability of a business owner to renew the license from anywhere in the world, without having to worry about physical presence in UAE for business continuity. Empay allows users the facility to transfer funds from their phone to any bank account worldwide.

Empay also allows a single-window payment platform for multiple utilities, bills, food ordering, international remittances, P2P micropayments and many more facilities.

According to Ali Ibrahim, deputy director-general of Dubai Economy, and chairman & managing director of Empay, this naturally provides strong support for the customers to facilitate simple transactions in a seamless manner.

He added that Empay allows one app to take the place of many apps, thereby reducing the hassles to the customer.
