Dubai in Top 10 remote work hubs for 2021
Dubai now ranks along with Miami and Denver for the world’s top 10 fastest growing cities for remote work. Nomad List, a website that caters to remote workers, noted that Dubai is the sixth fastest-growing remote working hub.
In March of 2021, the UAE government announced visas for remote working professionals who can reside in the UAE. This specific one-year visa allows professionals the world over to live and work remotely from within the UAE, even if their respective companies are based in another country.
Nomad List discovered that digital nomads’ check-in went up by a staggering 71% in 2021 in Dubai and 53% from 2016 to 2020. They track the movements of several thousand digital nomads to find the trending spots to live and remotely work from, and look for future spots.
Currently, there are estimated to be around 1,800 remote workers in Dubai. As Dubai is slowly working towards a strong comeback, thanks to its fast-paced vaccination campaign and strong leadership, a small but increasing number of business leaders are expressing their honest views on remote work, according to a recent Korn Ferry article.
However, the other side to this thought process is quite evident; according to a recent survey, roughly 84% of CEOs say they want their employees back in the office this year, for example.
